GKOS Implementations Example 2

Other applications

A matchbox-sized remote control for a variety of applications (PC, TV, MD,...) and a slightly larger micro PC. Both have naturally a full-featured keyboard, with a complete set of characters and functions, for e.g. fast typing.

The basic function of the remote control is to send GKOS chord values (1-63) as IR signals, using pulse width modulated carrier of 40 kHz, to other devices like a PC keyboard interface. In addition, it can have direct IR access to a variety of equipment of different makes. For example, entering titles for the MiniDisc is faster and easier than ever before (if you don't loose the tiny device!). The PC includes all basic PC features and a high volume hard disc of a miniature size. It is a fully stand-alone device and has an integrated GKOS keyboard of its own.
